Commitment to privacy
Privacy is very important to Pranic Healing Cairns. We are required to comply with the Federal Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles, and therefore our privacy policy applies to any personal information we collect, use or disclose, including the personal information of our employees and contractors.
How and why we collect personal information
We collect personal information in order to provide various services to our clients. With consent, we may also use personal information for related purposes including providing clients with updates on our products and services.
How we use and disclose personal information
We do not use or disclose personal information for any purpose that is unrelated to the services we provide and that you would not reasonably expect (except with client consent). We have a duty to maintain the confidentiality of our clients’ affairs, including personal information. Our duty of confidentiality to our clients applies, except where disclosure of personal information is consented to by the client or is compelled by law.
Client personal information may be disclosed to approved third parties who are also required to comply with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Security of your personal information
We endeavour to protect any personal information that we hold from misuse and/or loss, and to protect it from unauthorised access, modification and/or disclosure.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
When you visit this website we use cookies and similar technologies. Some are necessary for the site to work – for example, remembering what is in your shopping cart or keeping you logged in. Others are optional, and we only use those if you agree.
The first time you visit, you will see a consent notice. Nothing optional runs until you have made your choice, and you can change your mind at any time by clearing your cookies for this site and reloading. If you are visiting from the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, nothing optional runs unless you actively accept it.
What the optional tools do
Analytics. We use Google Analytics and Zoho PageSense to understand how people find and use the site – which pages are visited, how long people stay, and where they leave. Zoho PageSense also lets us see how our contact and signup forms are used, so we can fix parts that confuse people. This information is aggregated and is used to improve the site. Zoho PageSense stores its data in Australia.
Live chat. We use Zoho SalesIQ to provide the chat window in the corner of the site. It also records which pages you visited and how long you spent, so that if you start a conversation we have some context. If you start a chat, we keep a record of it so we can help you.
Advertising. We use the Meta (Facebook) pixel so we can share relevant information with people who have visited our site, and so we can tell whether our advertising is working. Some of this information is sent from our web server directly to Meta rather than from your browser.
Health information – what we deliberately do not do
Because of the nature of our work, we have gone further than we are required to.
We have configured our advertising tools so they do not send the page titles, page addresses or page categories you viewed. That means we do not tell advertising platforms which healing, course or treatment pages you looked at.
We do not place any advertising or analytics tracking on our client intake questionnaire, and we never share the health information you provide to us with advertising platforms or any other third party for marketing purposes.
Your choices
You can decline optional cookies and still use the site normally, though you may find some conveniences do not work as smoothly. You can clear cookies at any time through your browser settings.
